Vacuum forming is a process that has proven to be very useful in the retail and commercial markets. Being able to form plastic around objects allows manufacturers to seal and protect items with packaging, as well as create unique intricately molded items.
The vacuum forming process involves using a vacuum, which creates suction, and high temperatures to form warm malleable plastic around a particular mold. This process can be done using variable thickness of plastic sheets, creating variable degrees of protection and functionality. By using this vacuum forming technique, elaborate, complex moldings are able to be produced.
