Williams Industries prides itself on being a leader in molded plastic production. The characteristics of plastic lend itself beautifully to molding with the opportunity to create custom molds and custom products. Plastic is a material that is capable of performing tasks no other material is able to accomplish and providing products that no other material is able to provide. Due to the chemical properties of plastics, light-weight, flexible, protective products in any imaginable shape can be created using the right mold. Molded plastics are also an economical solution.
Injection Molding: The process of injection molding involves melting plastic particles then forcing this mixture into a split-die chamber/mold. It is within this chamber that the plastic cools and takes the shape of the chosen mold. After the item is completely cooled, it is then removed from the mold and the cycle is repeated. Some of the items for which injection molding is used include:
Blow Molding: The process of blow molding involves expanding a hot plastic parison against the internal surface of a mold. There are different advantages to blow molding when compared to other types of molding. The application usually dictates the appropriate molding process. The blow molding process creates hollow products used for products such as bottles, tanks, and drums.
